Dock Builders in Hollywood, FL

Hollywood was platted in 1921 as Hollywood by the Sea, and dock builders working here today are often dealing with waterfront laid out during that first boom. Early in the city's development, two yacht basins were dredged and connected to the Intracoastal Waterway. About 3.5 of the city's 30.8 square miles is water, and the Intracoastal runs parallel to roughly five to six miles of ocean beach.

The county's own resilience page names Hollywood Lakes as one of its study areas for tidal flooding. Owners must keep walls in good repair, and tide water that flows through or over a wall onto neighbors or the street is a citable nuisance with 60 days to show progress and 365 days to finish.
